For Danie Jordens, it begins with a childhood memory: as a child, he made kites with his father from old newspapers, on top of the mining slag heap in Genk. From that memory grew a tender performance about family, imagination and everything that sometimes remains unsaid between fathers and sons.
About the company
Hendrik & Co is a travelling theatre company from Hasselt, led by theatre maker and sculptor Danie Jordens. The company creates visual, clownish and musical object theatre: once in a circus tent, today on the street, on location and in cultural venues.
The work of Hendrik & Co often starts from craftsmanship, the joy of play and the poetry of self-built installations. With 'Terril', the company returns to a strong Limburg story in which personal memory and collective history touch one another.
