The wheel turns. Sometimes by choice, sometimes because stopping proves harder than continuing. Without words, that image grows into a quiet performance about movement, repetition and the longing for rest.
About the company
Motus Murmuri is a young circus company around artistic director Samuel Rhyner. The name loosely means 'the murmur of movement' and refers to the place where the company's work emerges: at the crossroads of circus, dance and music.
The performances of Motus Murmuri communicate through body, movement and sound. They are often wordless and therefore accessible across language, age and national borders. Their work seeks a delicate balance between abstraction and absurdism, creating a moment of slowness in which the audience can enter an idiosyncratic universe. The idle hour is the first creation under the name Motus Murmuri.
