About the company
Tall Tales Company was founded in 2013 by Maartje Bonarius and Harm van der Laan, both alumni of Codarts Rotterdam. The company has developed its own circus language in which big themes are brought back to recognisable, personal stories. For them, circus is not a series of separate techniques, but a narrative language: physical, exciting, layered and accessible at the same time.
With a magical, sharp and humorous touch, Tall Tales Company explores human interaction and the impact people have on one another and on the world around them. The company performs in theatres, at festivals and in special locations, and has become a fixture in the Dutch circus landscape.
