Juggler, dancer, choreographer and director Nicanor de Elia is a fixture in the circus world. With his company, he creates performances that straddle the line between juggling and dance. He also likes to question space and looks for innovative ways to manipulate objects.
In ‘Juventud’, Cie NDE’s jugglers use juggling as a poetic tool but also to start a revolution. The performance is a mixture of juggling, movement, sound, light and video that draws strength from the energy and youthfulness of its performers, who each time try to speed up their movements. It is in this acceleration and complexity that the beauty of the performance lies.
