What if we kept all the hair that we shed?
‘Peluda’ (Spanish for: ‘hair’) is a story about hair, a story with hair and a story about hair. It’s her turn. She comes first and you are quickly invited by her. There is only one her on stage, but it is a story of many. A story of discomfort, of doubt. Of frustration, vulnerability and empowerment.
With trapeze, mouth balancing, knife throwing and humour, Júlia explores the different relationships you can have with your own hair, highlighting the absurdity of ideals of beauty. It’s just hair, but all the stories behind it reveal something else. Bring your scissors, take a seat and let your hair down.
