A stripped-down circus performance with live music that makes the audience reflect on the staggering scale of physical nature and man’s position in his environment.

Four acrobats come into direct contact with gravity, dynamics, ballistics and kinetics. Four calculable but often imperceptible forces that lie at the heart of acrobatics. For example, gravity determines the difference between balance or imbalance, ballistics the tipping point between hovering and falling. Whereas classical acrobatics often tries to overcome these forces, ‘Dans l’espace’ tries to make them visible and relate to them. After all, what are we supposed to do with these inescapable forces? Dominate them, tame them, or surrender to them?

‘Dans l’espace’ teaches us to respect all the nature around us. To fear it, if necessary. To live with it and allow it to live. To tame it, if it lets us. To play with it or manipulate it.
